Headed a department of engineers responsible for a $2.7billion multinational's product design software, a tool used by end users to create printable products such as T-shirts, mugs, posters, and flags (over 10k SKUs total) — white‑labeled by businesses worldwide. The software had great potential, but its monolithic architecture was overloaded with exceptions and conditional logic introduced to serve every unique business, resulting in a sluggish and unreliable product that was nearly impossible to maintain. My market research revealed that the product’s real challenge was structural, not technical. I developed a new business plan and led the creation of a next-generation Software Development Kit (SDK) that enabled each business to build and maintain its own custom design application with minimal effort. To make this happen, I rapidly scaled a distributed team across the US, EU, and India from 12 to 50, bringing in engineers, data scientists, and product owners to accelerate the transformation. Although businesses were initially skeptical, expecting more overhead, early adopters quickly proved the value — flexibility, stability, and lower maintenance costs. Within months, adoption surged across all businesses, replacing homegrown solutions and driving user growth from 10,000 monthly to over 30 million.
